good for personal study

I like all of these books by Scott Hahn and other catholic authors. They are especially good if you don't have time for a bible study and just want to do personal study each night. They have tons and tons of notes and sidebars. I love this series.

i read a lot of scott hahn so i decided to read his notes on the new testament and genesis...

i read them, i love them!!!

each front of one has the author - not who he was, but everybody he could be! then he goes on to explain all the main couldbes of the author, and why most picked the author they picked... and then the church's answer to it...

he explains the layout of the book, who it was written to/for, and why...

in the notes, at the bottom of each page of the book, the notes are abundant...some notes, because if you put in every note on every thing you end up with...the catechism, lol! no seriously the notes are worth reading, especially "contents and unity", "living tradition", "analogy of faith", topical essays, word studies, and charts...

i like curtis mitch, too...but the intro to the gospels, etc, arent in the individual books, and the study questions for understanding and for application arent in the new testament...

im looking forward to the old testament coming out individually and the old testament as whole...

also some (i dont know how many or how to order them) comes in large, easy to read format! great for stroke, lol!

Scott Hahn is able to take the depth of St. Paul and relate it to our present day understanding. St.Paul was an expert in Old Testament. Scott Hahn explains to us the how St. Paul reveals to his audience that Jesus is the Messiah foretold in Old Testament.

Please don't give these plagerists more money

Don't buy this book. The information that you are looking for here is available for free. Go to teradata.com/certification, check the objectives for the basics exam, then look up those same topics online. Go to info.teradata.com and read the online documentation. It is more detailed and thorough. Large portions of this book are copied directly from the online documentation, but edited in such a way that you aren't left with the information you need to pass the certification exam.
This book is ridiculously expensive for what it offers - a low quality and incomplete introduction to teradata that will not help you pass the exam, or help you use teradata. This volume is advertizing material for how great the teradata system is, not a guide on how to use it.

Teradata Basics study guide inadequate

This study guide is hopelessly inadequate for the preparation for the exam. The exam requires a level of detail that is not present in the study guide. The exam requires you to know delicate juxtapositions of facts, how Teradata elements interrelate in a matrix format, and very specific details about each element. The exam multiple choice questions present a set of answers that are often so similar to one another, that it is impossible to know if you are wrong or right. I studied for hours a day from the study guide for 2 weeks and still failed. I will need to supplement the study guide with Teradata manuals. The study guide does not give bullet points, and purposely does not present the information in the way in which you need to know it to pass. I am very disappointed that a study guide of this high price is so poorly put together that it does not prepare you. It is clearly done on purpose to make sure that this certification is very hard to obtain. They are dead right when they say in the preface of the book that studying it will not result in a pass.

Good guide..

Haven't taken the exam yet, taking it tomorrow. The last chapter is a bit of mess and refers to both the Unity Product suite and the old components now being replaced/called Unity or the Unified Architecture. Question 6 only has 1 answer, which is it? This chapter is confusing and leads me to believe I could be asked a question that references either Teradata Replication Services Or Unity Data Mover. I expected more given that this is a Teradata approved study guide. If I pass the exam tomorrow, I'll come back and up my review to 4 stars but right now I'm keeping it to 3.

I passed the exam and the study guide turned out to provide significant value so I increased it to 4 stars. As one other poster said, you definitely need practical experience along with the study guide to pass this exam. The exam is no push over.

"This book taught me and told me a lot about one of my favorite authors. I didn't get bored reading it and I really liked it. I didn't give it 5 stars out of 5 because I was hoping it would be as funny as some of his books are, but it wasn't. But it was still a really entertaining book that I want to read again" ~from a 10 year old reader

My students love this series, and new titles always fly off the shelf as soon as they come in. This book was especially fun because it is about an author we have studied this year, so we decided to read the book as a class. I am very happy with how the book keeps the kids' interest and the way facts are presented.

Very comprehensive and interesting read on Roald Dahl. Mom and 8 and 11 year old daughters loved this as much as we love his books.....very inspiring and useful to show kids what they can do despite odds and obstacles.....

"Scalping," "prostitution," "Bat Masterson," "Dalton Gang," and "Springfield Rifle" are some of the 400 biographical/thematic entries, which give not only historical details but cite Westerns in which the character/topic figures prominently. Other major sections include a biographical directory, with filmographies for over 400 actors, directors, scriptwriters, etc., as well as a listing with credits and descriptions of every Western TV series and made-for-TV movie. Rounding off the volume is a fine 40-page essay on the history of the Western, hundreds of black-and-white photographs (many, though, are too tiny), and a 12-page color insert of Western-genre paintings. This offers much more than the standard Western book, e.g., Phil Hardy's The Western ( LJ 2/1/84), whose major feature is an annotated list of films. Casual moviegoers and experts alike will enjoy the historical perspective and posse of clever insights presented here. Highly recommended.

Excellent book with first-rate articles, even though it is old, it is not out dated!

Ths tome is full of great articles about western movies. I spend much of my time writing about movies, when I'm not actually watching them. Still, I am never too busy to learn a little more about the films themselves and this is a great book to do so.This book was published in 1988, so you may be relucant to get it, thinking that it is long out of date, but that is the great thing about classic movies, they are never out of date. Too short, but cute

What if you didn't have to be afraid of zombies eating you? What would your main problem be then? This is a cute little story that tries to show how just because people are dead, that doesn't mean they've changed much. As such, it's entertaining, but it feels a bit abbreviated. And, frankly, it's a little silly. It's an okay read in a pinch, just don't expect to get too much out of it.

Kinda like Mean Girls during the zombie apocalypse.

So, Mara's a bit of an earthy crunchy type gardening and doing a podcast to try to keep her sanity during the end of days. She finds out that the women zombies only eat males and tries to make friends with the femme zombies only to be shunned and made fun of for being "hu-men". Mara eventually hits her breaking point and stops playing nice.

Interesting read. Honestly didn't particularly care for Mara much as she was simply trying way too hard after being starved for social interaction.

Good premise but execution could have been better.

Let's start with the artwork. That was great an the best part of the book. Zombies can be done quite poorly, but the artist in this case has pulled it off. The story however had potential but for me, left much to be desired. The podcasting aspect is what made me want to read this title, instead of thinking "great another zombie comic" and it was barely used as a plot device at all. Then, in a few places, it seemed like the story just jumped so suddenly I thought I was missing pages.
