They say that your school years are supposed to be the best years of your life, and that you should make the most of them because you’ll miss them when you’re all grown up. Up until Maisie Preston’s senior year, she would have totally agreed with that statement. Life was great, she had everything going for her, excellent grades, great parents, an annoying yet caring twin brother, and an impossibly sweet boyfriend. Everything was perfect - that is until the arrival of Zach Anderson. A misfit delinquent that seemed to bring with him a lot of bad karma. Is it just a coincidence that his arrival marks a significant change in Maisie’s life? Up until senior year, life was perfect, but things seem to be going downhill fast.

There was No Connection, No Climax, No Closure.
By Katie
I am a huge fan of Kristy Moseley. I'm one of those people that reads at least three hundred books a year, and still is never sated. I loved both of her other books (The Boy Who Sneaks in my Bedroom Window and Always You.) They kept me up at night. I couldn't go to sleep until I'd finished them. That's why I don't understand what happened with Free Falling.
I didn't understand why the guy she's supposed to be with was hardly ever around. I didn't even understand the main character, Maisie, very much. I couldn't get connected to her. There was no draw and very little personality. She did a lot of moping, pouting, crying, and was one of the most indecisive characters I've ever read. She went from boring me to seriously irritating me a third of the way through the book.
There was very little climax. The obstacle plot was fine. It kept the suspense up, and was laid out well enough to have you wondering and guessing who the culprit was. BUT there was no true climax. That one moment that's supposed to be the "all or nothing." In the climax, CHOICES are supposed to be made. Brave or scaredy cat. Love or hate. Pick a guy. Make a profound realization about yourself. At least, SOMETHING. But nope. Maisie doesn't make choices. She just sits back and lets everything happen to her. Only taking a stand or doing the right thing, when she finally has no other options. Woohoo, that's my kind of heroine.
And finally, closure. There was none of it. (Also, by this point, you hate Maisie, you hate her boyfriend, you hate the story, and you have figured out that nothing is going to end the way it's supposed to. But because you're one of those people who can't stop reading a book forty pages before the end, you finish it anyway.) The entire book, you've been waiting for the girl to finally get together with the guy she's OBVIOUSLY supposed to be with. . . . . . . . . Never happens. (BTW: That was the only reason you'd read this far.) Then there's some more crying and inaction. Then when "the truth" comes out, Maisie does nothing about it. She doesn't offer up the knowledge or justice she could provide for herself or any of the other people that were hurt -- some of them hurt much worse than she was. She buries the truth. Hides it. And then does something super illegal and lies about it. (Somehow, I'm making it sound more interesting than it was.) And that's how it ends. Well, then there's an extra chapter about the guy . . . the one that she was supposed to be with. It seems like a prologue to the next book, BUT apparently, there isn't going to be sequel.
Waste of money. Definitely. Priced higher than her others, and it was only about a third of a story.
Miss Moseley! I am still a huge fan. I truly hope that you write a gazillion more books. But . . . Well, I'm not even sure what genre Free Falling is supposed to be. The description makes it sound like a romance, which it's obviously not, so . . . Mystery? Horror? Disaster Fiction? Whichever. Write some more romance books. You're so good at those. Go with what you know. This story just sounded like something that would be a thread or single character from one of your romance books. Like it all could have been going on in the background. Like Amber's dad. Or Riley's psycho stalker. This on its own, just wasn't enough.

Umm what?
By Anabel
The blurb portrays Zach being a major part of the book, but he was barely included. The interaction between the main character and him were really sparse. There was no hint or anything about a romance starting. I love Kirsty Moseley, but this book just didn't do it for me!!
